Biography

Vincenzo Caravello is an Italian composer, sound designer, and multi-instrumentalist with a distinctive career that blends tradition, innovation, and a deep passion for storytelling through music and sound. Starting as a bass player in genres ranging from punk, rock, and metal to pop and blues, he built a strong foundation that evolved into a focus on composing and sound design for films, video games, and media.

Driven by his love for music, cinema, and interactive storytelling, Vincenzo pursued formal training at the Conservatorio di Musica Alessandro Scarlatti. During his studies, he earned the prestigious Inner Wheel Scholarship for his original piece, Ode to Friendship, and co-founded the duo Vorance Audio, scoring award-winning short films, commercials, documentaries, and video games.

Vincenzo’s innovative spirit led him to collaborate with the University of Palermo's Robotics Lab and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo, creating a groundbreaking interactive show where a music ensemble, guided by a robot analyzing audience emotions via smartphones, dynamically adapted the performance to forge a deeper connection with the audience. This work was showcased at the Rostrum of Composers and in partnership with the Teatro Massimo.

In addition to his B.A. (110/110) and M.A. (110/110 cum laude), Vincenzo holds a Level II Master’s Degree in Applied Music from the Conservatorio di Rovigo Francesco Venezze. He further specialized in game audio at the Vigamus Academy in Rome, deepening his expertise in interactive and immersive sound design.

Vincenzo has refined his craft through international experiences, including the Hollywood Music Workshop with Grammy-nominated Miriam Cutler, the Hans Zimmer Masterclass, and the C.S.C. Lab Musica per Film in Rome. His soundtrack for the short film Pupus by Miriam Cossu Sparagano Ferraye earned recognition as Best Italian Short Film 2021 at the Visioni dal Mondo Festival in Milan.

Equally comfortable composing for classical ensembles, cinematic scores, and experimental projects, Vincenzo’s versatility allows him to adapt to a wide range of styles. However, his true passion remains storytelling—crafting emotional and immersive experiences through music and sound.
